NCBA Bank Waives Fees on Selected Digital Transactions Until December

What the report says
NCBA Bank Uganda has introduced a limited-time fee waiver on selected digital banking transactions under its NCBA NOW Zero Transaction Fees campaign. The promotion, launched on October 13 at the bank’s head office at Twed Towers in Kampala, is scheduled to run until December 31, 2026, according to Nile Post.
The offer applies to eligible services carried out through NCBA’s mobile app, web platform and *212# USSD channel. Transactions covered include utility bill payments, bank-to-wallet transfers, EFT, RTGS, international transfers and NSSF payments, subject to the campaign’s terms and conditions. The bank says the goal is to reduce banking costs, encourage greater use of digital services and attract or re-engage customers.
NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer Mark Muyobo said the move is meant to make banking simpler and more accessible, while helping customers save on transaction charges. He also urged people who do not yet bank with NCBA to open accounts and use the digital platforms.
Nile Post also reported that NCBA has a separate initiative for qualifying SMEs, waiving selected transaction and loan arrangement fees on services such as business loans, invoice discounting, LPO financing and asset financing. More broadly, the campaigns reflect a wider push by banks to expand digital banking and offer lower-cost products, especially for customers and businesses seeking to manage routine payments and cash flow more efficiently.
