What the report says

NBS Sport has launched a dedicated Premier League package, “EPL on NBS Sport,” ahead of the 2026/27 season. According to Nile Post, the platform was unveiled on Thursday evening at The Villa in Kampala and will combine free-to-air live matches with analysis, fan-interaction shows and Luganda-language programming aimed at Ugandan viewers.

The broadcaster said its live coverage will begin on Saturday, August 22, with Nottingham Forest hosting newly promoted Leeds United. The launch came shortly after the league’s official start on August 21. The package will include shows such as EPL Preview, EPL Review, Premier League Stories and EPL Daily, the last of which will air in Luganda on weekdays to broaden access for local audiences.

NBS Sport also announced Guinness, Coca-Cola and Championbet as flagship sponsors. The companies will be integrated across live broadcasts, studio programming and fan-engagement features such as Predict & Win and EPL Fans’ TV. NBS Sport said sponsor content will follow responsible advertising requirements, including age limits for gaming-related material.

At the launch, Next Media sports broadcast head Andrew Kabuura said the aim was to bring the Premier League closer to Ugandan fans while also setting a higher production benchmark for local sport. More broadly, the move reflects how major international football properties are increasingly being packaged with year-round content, local-language coverage and interactive formats to retain audiences beyond matchdays.
