Hoops Rumors, citing the NBA’s announcements, reported that Golden State Warriors rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg has been named Most Valuable Player of the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League. The honor came shortly after Lendeborg was also selected as MVP of Sunday’s Summer League championship game, giving him two early awards in his first month as an NBA player. The league’s selections were determined by a vote involving all 30 teams.

Lendeborg was also named to the All-Summer League first team alongside Cameron Boozer of the Memphis Grizzlies, Brayden Burries of the Milwaukee Bucks, Meleek Thomas of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Caleb Wilson of the Chicago Bulls. Hoops Rumors noted that the first team was almost entirely made up of 2026 lottery picks, with Thomas, the No. 34 pick, as the exception. Thomas led Las Vegas scorers at 27.3 points per game over four appearances.

The second team included Cedric Coward of the Grizzlies, Egor Demin of the Brooklyn Nets, Khaman Maluach of the Phoenix Suns, Liam McNeeley of the Charlotte Hornets and Zyon Pullin of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Pullin, who went undrafted in 2024 and is on a two-way deal with Minnesota, averaged 21.0 points and 7.8 assists across five games, according to the report.

The awards matter because Summer League is one of the first public evaluation settings for rookies and young players after the draft. While performances in Las Vegas do not guarantee regular-season roles, they can influence roster decisions, development plans and early expectations for recent draft picks.
