NBA 2K27 Reveals Wemby, Caitlin Clark, Derrick Rose Covers and Release Date for New Video Game - Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report, citing 2K’s announcement, reported that NBA 2K27 will launch with three cover athletes tied to different editions of the game: Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark and Derrick Rose. The title is scheduled to be released Sept. 4, with pre-orders already open for all three versions.

Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs star, will appear on the standard edition. Bleacher Report noted that he is the first Spurs player selected for an NBA 2K cover, and that the honor follows a season in which he became the first unanimous Defensive Player of the Year. Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever, is featured on the deluxe edition and is described in the report as the first WNBA player on an NBA 2K premium cover.

Rose will be on the ultra edition, which Bleacher Report said will be sold for a limited time. It marks another NBA 2K cover appearance for Rose, who previously shared the NBA 2K13 cover with Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin. The report also placed Clark’s selection in the broader history of WNBA representation in the franchise, noting prior special or alternate cover appearances by Angel Reese, A’ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi and Candace Parker.

According to the report, NBA 2K27 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who pre-order the deluxe or ultra editions on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC will be eligible for early access beginning Aug. 28.
