Nasser out for fun in TZ

What the report says
Defending African Rally Champions Yasin Nasser and co-driver Ali Katumba are set to close out the 2026 African Rally Championship this weekend in Morogoro, Tanzania, with Nasser saying the final round is more about enjoyment and sponsor duties than another title push. According to The Observer, the pair travel to the season-ending event after winning last year’s continental crown by a single point, and this time they arrive with less championship pressure than before.
The report says Kenya’s Karan Patel leads the ARC standings heading into the finale, while Uganda’s interest also extends to the ARC2 category. Debutant Oscar Ntambi tops that class, with fellow Ugandan Suzan Muwonge also aiming for a strong result. Her co-driver, Musa Nsubuga, said the target is an ARC2 podium finish in Tanzania.
The Tanzanian round is also expected to decide local championship battles, including a close fight between Ahmed Huwel and Manveer Birdi. The event begins on Friday, October 2, with a qualifying stage, followed by two days of competitive stages and a closing Power Stage on Sunday, October 4.
The finale matters because ARC points are doubled in the last round, which can significantly affect both continental and national standings. The Observer’s coverage highlights how the season-ending rally will shape titles across the region while also offering a final showcase for drivers and teams before the championship wraps up.
