Murray leaves Championship bottom side Morton

What the report says
Greenock Morton have parted company with manager Ian Murray, leaving the Scottish Championship club bottom of the table after a poor start to the season, BBC Sport Football reported. First-team coach Bill Orr has also departed, while first-team player Michael O'Halloran and assistant manager Gary Miller will oversee the side on an interim basis.
According to BBC Sport, Morton have taken just one point from their opening eight league matches, leaving them three points behind second-bottom Queen's Park. The club are next due to host Raith Rovers on Saturday. BBC Sport also reported that one of Morton's sponsors has run into difficulties, which has had an impact on the club's finances and recruitment during the campaign.
Murray, 45, joined Morton in January after previous managerial spells at Dumbarton, St Mirren, Airdrieonians and Raith Rovers, following a playing career that included Hibernian, Rangers and Scotland. He won four of his 29 games in charge, according to the BBC. The club said it had relieved both Murray and Orr of their duties immediately and thanked them for their work.
The move adds to a difficult spell for Morton, with the club acknowledging supporter frustration and the importance of the coming weeks as they try to improve results and avoid remaining adrift at the foot of the division.
