Mufti urges Muslims to strengthen brotherhood, love and unity

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has called on Muslims to reinforce brotherhood, love and unity, saying those values are central to peaceful living and community development. According to Nile Post, the message was delivered on his behalf by the Second Deputy Mufti, Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya.

The remarks were made during memorial prayers for the late Juma Ibrahim Takilambudde, a former Assistant Superintendent of Police. The service also remembered Takilambudde’s family ties to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, including his father, Haj Juma Ibrahim Kibirango Talutambudde, who was described as a longtime UMSC volunteer and resident of Kiwanga in Mukono Muslim District.

Sheikh Bukenya urged mourners and the wider Muslim community to keep a spirit of mutual respect and solidarity. He linked those principles to teachings in the Holy Quran and the example of Prophet Muhammad, saying they can help strengthen social cohesion and support development. He also thanked the family for its continued loyalty to the UMSC and prayed for Takilambudde, commending his service in the Uganda Police Force.
