What the report says

MTN Uganda has handed over the first motorcycle in the second season of its Digida N’akayimba Ko promotion, according to Nile Post. The winner, Kiiza Vincent, received the prize after activating “Sikiwa” by Fik Fameica as his Caller Tunez. The company says the campaign will run nationwide and is designed to reward customers while also supporting Ugandan music through its digital services.

The promotion is expected to award 20 motorcycles and a total of Shs42 million in cash prizes. MTN said customers can enter by dialing 17012# and downloading a Caller Tunez track for Shs700. The company also said users can copy another customer’s Caller Tunez while calling them. The handover was presented as the start of a broader series of activations across Uganda.

Speaking at the October 15, 2026 event, MTN Uganda’s senior manager for digital services said the initiative is meant to celebrate local music and give customers a chance to win prizes through services they already use. The company also said the motorcycles could help winners generate income, support their families, or start small businesses. In a broader context, promotions like this are often used by telecom operators to boost service use and strengthen ties with local artists, though the specific arrangement here was described by MTN in relation to its Caller Tunez platform.

MTN also warned customers about fraudsters and said official prize winners are contacted through its line 0312120000. It said winners do not need to pay money or send Mobile Money transfers to claim prizes, and customers should not share PINs with anyone claiming to assist with the promotion.
