MTN Takes Y’ello Storm Campaign to Soroti with Customer Engagements and Network Boost

What the report says
Nile Post reports that MTN Uganda has extended its Y’ello Storm activation to Soroti under the company’s Free Your Fire campaign, staging a two-day programme on July 16 and 17, 2026. The campaign in the Teso region combined customer engagement, product demonstrations, entertainment, community outreach and digital service support, with MTN positioning the effort as a way to bring services closer to customers.
According to the report, the first day included a clean-up exercise at Soroti Main Market, where MTN staff worked with traders and donated cleaning equipment. The company also recognised selected MTN MoMo merchants and promoted mobile money use for business payments and customer rewards. A Y’ello Health Camp, organised with Zuri Health, offered free consultations, basic checks, wellness advice and health education to members of the public.
The article says MTN also commissioned a new network site in Lale to improve voice service, data speeds and customer experience in the Teso sub-region. Allan Njagala, MTN Uganda’s Regional Commercial Head for the Eastern Region, said the activation gives the company a chance to hear from customers directly while showing how connectivity, voice, data and digital services can support business, learning and everyday communication.
Further activities were planned in Ocholimongin, Katakwi, Komolo, Wera and Akaikai, concluding at Soroti Sports Grounds. Nile Post reports that the programme included clinics for MTN Telco and MoMo services, a blood donation drive, vendor expo, sports and games, regional artist performances, a MoMo food offer, and school fees support for two winners.
