MTN MoMo Launches November Shopping Deals Under ‘Ekigya Si Muntuuu’ Campaign

What the report says
Nile Post reports that MTN Mobile Money has launched a month-long shopping promotion called “Ekigya Si Muntuuu,” offering discounted goods through its Market by MoMo platform. The campaign began on October 30 and is set to run through November 2026, with purchases made via the MTN MoMo App. The promotion covers a range of items including smartphones, televisions, a refrigerator, a laptop and household essentials.
The article says some featured offers include a Tecno Pop 20 smartphone, a Mitech 32-inch digital LED television, a Skyworth 65-inch 4K Google TV, a Roch double-door refrigerator and an Acer X360 Mini touchscreen laptop. Other discounted items listed include rice, bedsheets and personal care products. The deals are described as available only while stocks last and are tied to the app-based marketplace.
Brian Mutungi, MTN MoMo’s country lead for e-commerce, said the campaign is meant to help customers find lower-priced products during the festive shopping season and to encourage use of the company’s online shopping service. MTN MoMo said the initiative forms part of its broader Blue Season push, which will continue into a Blue Christmas promotion. More generally, app-based retail campaigns have become a common way for mobile money providers in East Africa to expand e-commerce use and keep customers inside their payment ecosystems.
