What the report says

MTN Uganda has raised the data allowances on several of its monthly internet bundles while keeping prices unchanged, according to Nile Post. The telecom said the revised packages are being offered permanently to all customers and are part of its broader “Free Your Fire” campaign, which promotes digital use for learning, work, entrepreneurship and content creation.

The updated offers include increases across a range of price points. The Shs6,500 bundle now provides 2GB instead of 1.5GB, the Shs10,000 Hero Pack has moved to 4GB from 3.2GB, and the Shs26,000 option has doubled from 10GB to 20GB. Larger bundles have also been expanded, with the Shs50,000 package rising from 22GB to 45GB, the Shs100,000 package increasing from 48GB to 100GB, and the Shs170,000 package going from 85GB to 200GB.

MTN said customers can buy the bundles through USSD, the MyMTN App, MTN Mobile Money, or the MoMo App. The company said the changes are meant to make internet access more affordable and to give users more room to study online, run businesses and collaborate remotely.

For context, MTN Uganda said it remains the country’s largest connectivity provider and continues to invest in network coverage and digital services. The reported subscriber and user figures in the article were attributed to MTN and dated December 31, 2025; that date appears inconsistent with the publication timing and should be treated cautiously pending verification.
