Mozambique: Goals of Facim Were Achieved - Prime Minister

What the report says
Mozambique’s Prime Minister Benvinda Levi said the 61st edition of the Maputo International Fair, known as FACIM 2026, met its main objectives by bringing together companies, investors and partners and by generating interest in new business deals. The comments were made at the fair’s closing ceremony on Saturday in Ricatla, in the municipality of Marracuene, after a seven-day event held under the theme “Digital and Energy Transformation towards a Sustainable and Industrialized Economy.”
According to AllAfrica’s source article from Agencia de Informacao de Mocambique, Levi said the fair connected markets, technologies, experiences and investment opportunities from Mozambique and abroad. She argued that the most important outcome was the series of partnership and investment commitments discussed during the event, which she said could support economic growth and help expand exports.
The prime minister also urged participants to turn contacts made at the fair into actual contracts, investments and projects such as factories, processing plants, agricultural ventures, services, technologies and infrastructure. She said the event featured a broad range of sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, energy, mining, construction, tourism, transport, logistics, digital technology, finance and the creative economy.
Levi highlighted the strong participation of provinces and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, saying this reflected a more geographically diverse economy. She also restated the government’s intention to improve the business climate through more digitalization, simpler procedures, less bureaucracy, stronger financial inclusion and better connectivity.
