Miss Universe Uganda Mitchelle Daka Begins Global Journey with V&A Sherry Support

What the report says
Mitchelle Daka, Uganda’s first Miss Universe Uganda titleholder, is preparing to represent the country at the Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico in November, according to Nile Post. The article says she recently visited Uganda Breweries Limited’s headquarters in Luzira with first runner-up Kimberly Jael Aremo and Top Supermodel Teopista Aromach as part of a celebratory tour organised by V&A Sherry.
The visit highlighted Daka’s role as both the national winner and a brand ambassador for V&A Sherry, which had selected her as its Face of V&A before the pageant finale. Company representatives said the event was meant to celebrate the queens’ achievements, introduce them to the production environment behind V&A Sherry, and reaffirm support as they move onto international platforms.
Nile Post reported that the partnership aligns with V&A Sherry’s “Yours to Share” theme and broader emphasis on women’s empowerment. UBL leaders also congratulated the contestants and described the partnership as a positive fit for the brand. Miss Universe Uganda director Joram Muzira thanked the company for backing the inaugural competition and supporting opportunities for women.
The development matters because Daka is set to become the first Ugandan to compete at Miss Universe in the pageant’s 75-year history. Her upcoming appearance in Puerto Rico marks a milestone for Uganda’s pageant sector and gives the country a new presence on a major global stage.
