Miss Tourism Uganda unveils 35 contestants

What the report says
Miss Tourism Uganda has unveiled the contestants for its 2026 competition, with Sqoop Uganda reporting that 35 women and nine men were introduced over the weekend at Kampala Serena Hotel. The event marked the start of the race for the Miss Tourism Uganda and Man of Tourism titles and was presented as a celebration of Uganda’s cultural diversity.
According to the report, the contestants represented different regions and cultural backgrounds and walked the runway in traditional attire. Organisers said the pageant is intended to highlight more than appearance and stage presence, with an emphasis on confidence, cultural knowledge and an understanding of Uganda’s tourism potential. Miss Tourism Uganda public relations officer Saina Musasizi thanked supporters at the unveiling and described the occasion as an important step in the contestants’ journey.
The competition now moves to boot camp, where the women will prepare for the finale while the men compete for the Man of Tourism title. Sqoop Uganda said the grand finale is scheduled for September 4 at Kampala Serena Hotel, under the theme “AI, Culture and Tourism.” The theme suggests organisers want to link heritage promotion with emerging technology, including artificial intelligence, to help present Uganda’s cultural story to wider audiences.
The report also says the 2026 Miss Tourism Uganda winner will receive a fully furnished rented house in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road for the duration of her reign.
