Minister Babalanda Pays Tribute to Mzee Ndimukika, Urges Fight Against Corruption and Embrace of Wealth Creation Programs

Watchdog Uganda reported that Minister for the Presidency Babirye Milly Babalanda officiated at the funeral of Mzee Erizephan Ndimukika in Buwagi, Budondo, Jinja District. Ndimukika was identified as the father of Pastor Dr. Moses Ndimukika Maka, a former Archbishop of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda. The minister delivered condolences on behalf of the government and conveyed greetings from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, and the Office of the President.

According to the report, Babalanda praised Ndimukika as a person remembered for diligence, service and commitment to work. She said he had been known as a model farmer in Jinja District and had previously hosted the president at his home. She urged mourners and the wider public to draw lessons from his example by using available resources and government anti-poverty initiatives.

The minister specifically pointed to programmes including Emyooga, Operation Wealth Creation, the Parish Development Model and the four-acre model as tools citizens can use to improve household incomes. She also used the funeral gathering to warn against corruption, saying it damages public services and slows national progress, and urged citizens to reject, report and demand accountability from those involved in the vice.

Watchdog Uganda said the funeral was attended by family members, Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders, government officials and residents of Budondo. The remarks matter beyond the burial because they tied a memorial event to wider government messaging on wealth creation, public accountability and service delivery.
