Minister Babalanda Officiates Fr. Musana’s Silver Jubilee, Rallies Support for NRM Candidates in LCI Elections

What the report says
Watchdog Uganda reported that Minister for the Presidency and Budiope West Woman MP Babirye Milly Babalanda officiated on Saturday at the 25th anniversary of priesthood for Rev. Fr. Anthony Musana. The silver jubilee thanksgiving was held at Wansimba Parish Pastoral Council in Namagera Town Council, Jinja District, under a biblical theme drawn from Isaiah 63:7.
According to the report, Babalanda delivered greetings from President Yoweri Museveni, First Lady and Education Minister Janet Museveni, and the Office of the President. She praised Fr. Musana’s family for raising him in the Christian faith and commended his service as a priest, saying religious and political leaders both have roles in guiding communities. She also urged faith leaders to continue promoting integrity, reconciliation and unity, and to help confront corruption and other social challenges.
The minister used the event to promote government wealth-creation programmes, including the Four-Acre Model, the Parish Development Model, Emyooga and the GROW Project. With Local Council elections nearing their final phase, Watchdog Uganda said she appealed to voters to back National Resistance Movement flag bearers, arguing that village-level leadership is central to service delivery, community security and implementation of government programmes.
Fr. Musana thanked Babalanda for attending as chief guest and praised her public service and NRM mobilisation work, the outlet reported. The celebration drew several officials, clergy, local leaders and residents from Busoga and beyond, including Justice Batema Ndikabona, Jinja District Woman Representative Peace Tibyaze and Jinja Northern Division MP Hussein Muyonjo.
