Uganda’s Minister for the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, has congratulated Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II of Buganda on his 33rd coronation anniversary, which was marked on 31 July 2026. In a message shared on her official X account, she praised the monarch’s long record of cultural leadership and described his reign as a source of stability and guidance for Buganda and Uganda.

According to Watchdog Uganda, Babalanda said the Kabaka’s leadership has supported unity, heritage preservation, education, health, and economic empowerment. She also highlighted the ongoing relationship between the central government and the Buganda Kingdom, saying that cooperation remains important for national development, peace, and social cohesion.

The minister further expressed appreciation for the Kabaka’s role as a figure of encouragement and for his advocacy for community welfare. She offered prayers for his continued health, long life, and strength as he continues serving the people. Her message ended with a traditional Buganda salutation.

Watchdog Uganda reported that the anniversary is being observed across Buganda through prayers, cultural activities, and community service under a theme focused on unity and service. More broadly, the occasion reflects the Kabaka’s continued symbolic importance in Buganda’s cultural life and in public discussions about identity, cooperation, and development in Uganda.
