Millwall sign Scotland's Dykes on one-year deal

Millwall have completed the signing of Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes on a one-year contract after his Charlton Athletic deal ended, according to BBC Sport Football. The 30-year-old becomes Millwall’s ninth addition of the summer as the Championship club continue to reshape their squad before the new season.

Dykes arrives with significant experience in the international game. BBC Sport reported that he has been capped 53 times by Scotland and was included in the squad for this summer’s World Cup. His recent club spell at Charlton brought 20 appearances and three goals after he joined in January, and he had also been offered new terms by the south London club.

Millwall director of football Steve Gallen described Dykes as a physical centre-forward who can operate as a target man and present a different challenge for defenders. He also said the striker would add depth to the attacking options in a league known for its demands.

The BBC article added that Dykes previously played for Birmingham City, where he scored seven times in 55 matches, and spent four years at Queens Park Rangers after starting his career in Scotland with Queen of the South and Livingston.
