Mikie Wine says children, wife will inherit everything he owns

What the report says
Ugandan musician Mikie Wine, whose real name is Michael Mukwaya, has publicly said that he wants his estate to go to his wife and children when he dies. In remarks published by Sqoop Uganda, he said relatives may offer opinions, but he does not want them deciding how his property is divided.
According to the report, the singer said he is speaking now while he is still alive so that his wishes are clear and family disputes can be avoided later. He presented the decision as a matter of personal responsibility and maturity, saying he prefers to state his intentions in advance rather than leave them open to argument.
Mikie Wine also used the discussion to encourage fathers to confirm and acknowledge their children while they are alive, rather than leaving questions about paternity and family ties to emerge after death. He said he wants all his children to be brought together and recognized as part of his household.
The comments are a reminder of how inheritance, family recognition and estate planning can become sensitive issues in many families. As a general matter, such wishes may still be shaped by local inheritance law and the rights of eligible beneficiaries, but Sqoop Uganda reported only Mikie Wine’s stated personal position.
