Mbeumo offers Carrick solace as Man Utd winless run goes on

What the report says
Manchester United’s winless run stretched to six games after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road, according to BBC Sport Football. The result left Michael Carrick’s side 13th in the Premier League table and continuing to search for consistency in a difficult start to the season.
Bryan Mbeumo again provided a rare positive for United, scoring his fourth Premier League goal in seven matches. He opened the scoring in a game where United were otherwise short of attacking output, with Bruno Fernandes still the only other player in the squad to have reached more than one goal this season, apart from Mbeumo. Leeds equalised after half-time through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
BBC Sport reported that Carrick had tried to shut out off-field noise this week, including criticism directed at the club’s recruitment. The article also noted that Lisandro Martinez had apologised after publicly questioning United’s summer transfer business, while sporting director Jason Wilcox was present at the stadium. United were again forced to shuffle their defence because of injuries and fitness concerns.
Carrick described the performance as a possible “fresh start” and said his team must stay stable and keep doing the right things. The broader context is that United have won only two of their 10 matches in all competitions, adding pressure around the club as they try to halt a poor run.
