Masaka NRM Boss Begins Signature Collection Drive for Muhoozi

Masaka City NRM Chairperson Rodgers Buregeya has started a signature collection drive in Greater Masaka to build support for General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s proposed run in the 2031 presidential election, according to Nile Post. The exercise was launched after Buregeya received signature books at the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) office in Nakasero, Kampala, and he has been assigned to extend the mobilisation effort to communities across the region.

Nile Post reports that the books will be distributed through village chairpersons, who are expected to help gather signatures from residents backing the proposed endorsement. Buregeya said the campaign will cover the whole Greater Masaka area and should be completed soon. He also said separate books were provided for men and women as part of the outreach.

After the collection phase, organisers plan to hold an endorsement rally in Masaka, where Muhoozi would meet supporters. Buregeya said the signed books would later be presented at a planned event at Liberation Square in Masaka. The books were handed over by Michael Mawanda, the PLU director of mobilisation.
