Masaka Murder Probe: Two Arrested Over Alleged Shs2m Human Body Parts Deal

What the report says
Police in Masaka East have arrested two suspects as they investigate the killing of Natukunda Jackline, a resident of Lukaya, and two other suspected murder cases, according to Watchdog Uganda. The report says the case first drew attention on Sept. 29, 2026, after a human head was reportedly found in a white polythene bag along the Kako–Mukungwe Road in Nyendo-Mukungwe Division. Officers later recovered a headless body in Butale Cell, Kyanamukaka.
The article identifies the main suspect as Kamugisha Kulaishi, 38, a moneylender from Kasala LC I in Nyendo-Mukungwe, and says a traditional healer from Kyotera District is also in custody. Police spokesperson SP Kasirye Twaha said investigators believe the healer may have asked for human body parts, and that the principal suspect allegedly received an advance payment as part of a reported Shs2 million arrangement. These claims remain under investigation and have not been tested in court.
Watchdog Uganda reports that the suspect took officers through a reconstruction of the alleged crime scene and described how he allegedly picked up the victim in Lukaya before the killing. Police also say the investigation has raised possible links to two other murder cases in Nsangi, Wakiso District, and Sanga. At the suspect’s home, detectives reportedly recovered items thought to be connected to ritual activity, which have been sent for forensic analysis. The case matters because it points to a wider probe into possible ritual-related killings and cross-district connections.
