What the report says

Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Leicester City teenager Louis Page, according to BBC Sport Football. The 18-year-old midfielder is already an England Under-20 international and was named EFL Apprentice of the Year last season. He has made 21 senior appearances for Leicester, including five starts in the club’s relegation campaign from the Championship, and featured most recently in the Carabao Cup win over Northampton.

BBC Sport says discussions over an agreement are still ongoing. Arsenal and Aston Villa have also shown strong interest in Page in recent weeks, adding competition for a player who is regarded as one of the more promising young talents outside the Premier League. Because Page signed professional terms with Leicester only in September 2025, any move would require a transfer fee to be agreed with the club.

The report comes as Leicester continue to see attention on several young players. BBC Sport notes that forward Jeremy Monga has already left for Manchester City, highlighting the challenge for the club in keeping hold of emerging prospects. More broadly, the pursuit of Page fits a familiar pattern in English football, where top-flight clubs monitor standout academy graduates from lower divisions and promote them into senior squads or development programmes.
