Man City's Reijnders set for £52m Saudi move

Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is close to leaving the Premier League club after a fee of about £52m was agreed with Saudi Pro-League side Al-Qadsiah, according to BBC Sport Football. The Dutch international joined City from AC Milan for £46.5m only last summer, but his stay looks set to last a year before a move to Saudi Arabia.

BBC Sport reported that Reijnders had a strong start at City but was less influential as the season progressed, finishing with seven goals in 47 appearances. He was also training separately from the main squad on Thursday, a sign that the transfer was advancing. Al-Qadsiah are managed by Brendan Rodgers, the former Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester boss.

The move comes as City appear to be reshaping their midfield. BBC Sport noted uncertainty around Rodri’s future and reported interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Reijnders’ departure would therefore form part of a broader squad review after Pep Guardiola’s final season at the club, adding to the sense of change at Manchester City.

Reijnders also featured for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances. He started group matches against Japan, Sweden and Tunisia before missing the last-32 penalty shootout loss to Morocco.
