Man City agree £65m deal for Everton's Ndiaye

What the report says
Manchester City have agreed a deal with Everton to sign winger Iliman Ndiaye, in a move BBC Sport says is worth a guaranteed £60m plus up to £5m in add-ons. Ndiaye, a Senegal international, joined Everton from Marseille in 2024, and the agreement marks a major transfer between Premier League clubs late in the window.
The BBC report says the City move came after Tottenham had also reached an understanding with Everton over Ndiaye on Friday night, as part of a separate arrangement that would have sent Richarlison back to Everton. That transfer path stalled when Richarlison was unable to agree personal terms with Everton, preventing Spurs from moving ahead with the Ndiaye deal.
For Manchester City, the signing appears to have emerged as their next attacking move after a proposed £80m transfer for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo was reported to be close to collapsing. BBC Sport also reported that Liverpool had sold and bought players in other late-window business, but may keep Gakpo unless they can bring in another winger before the deadline. The Ndiaye deal underlines how quickly plans can change in the final stages of the transfer market, with clubs adjusting to failed negotiations and replacement searches.
