What the report says

C-Care Uganda has completed its acquisition of Roswell Hospital in Kampala, according to Nile Post, in a move that expands the healthcare group’s footprint in the capital and across Uganda. The transaction was finalized on September 8, 2026, and brings a 30-bed multi-specialty facility in Kampala’s Central Business District into C-Care’s network.

The hospital is known for services in women’s health, maternal and child care, and fertility, and reportedly handles more than 30,000 patients each year. C-Care said the addition will strengthen its ability to provide specialized reproductive and maternal healthcare while improving access to care in a busy urban area.

C-Care Uganda said its next step is to integrate Roswell Hospital into its wider system, with an emphasis on operational efficiency and shared resources. The company’s network now includes six hospitals and 17 clinics, reflecting a broader expansion strategy in Uganda.

Azhar Sundhoo, chief executive officer of C-Care East Africa, described the purchase as part of the group’s regional growth plans and said it would reinforce access to quality healthcare. In general industry terms, hospital acquisitions often aim to expand capacity and consolidate services, though the specific operational outcome of this deal will depend on how the integration is carried out.
