Star City Games reported that Hasbro’s second-quarter 2026 results were led by growth in Wizards of the Coast’s Digital Gaming segment, with Magic: The Gathering again identified as a major driver. According to the report, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks said on the company’s earnings call that Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes set new Day-1 and Month-1 revenue records and became the quickest Magic set to reach $300 million in revenue.

The publisher said Cocks was asked how the Marvel release compared with 2025’s Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY. He described the Marvel set as having a strong launch, including larger initial allocation, sell-through and reorders, but said FINAL FANTASY remains the biggest Magic set overall, helped by stronger follow-up and related products after release.

Star City Games also reported that Cocks used the call to frame Magic as a major entertainment franchise rather than a niche hobby brand. He pointed to long-running revenue growth across tabletop and digital Magic since 2009 and said the Universes Beyond line gives the brand broader platform potential. He also referenced three unannounced Universes Beyond sets planned for 2027, describing them as more “fantasy adjacent,” while noting fan feedback about recent settings.

The report added that Hasbro continues to see digital growth as a long-term opportunity. Cocks said MTG Arena has generated nearly $1 billion since its 2019 launch, while newer digital investments are expected to have more impact from 2028 onward rather than in 2027.
