Lwengo Man Confesses to Cannibalism

What the report says
Residents of Kigeyi Village in Malongo Sub-county, Lwengo District, are calling for a full police investigation after human remains were found in the area and a 35-year-old suspect allegedly admitted to killing people and consuming parts of their bodies. According to Nile Post, the man, identified as Kasakyi Muzafar, was arrested in neighboring Sembabule District after reportedly fleeing when villagers began searching for him.
The discovery began when residents say they found a human hand and skull in bushes near the village, followed by more bones in the surrounding area. Some villagers claimed the remains appeared to have been cooked and stripped of flesh, intensifying fear in the community. Nile Post reported that residents believe there may be additional victims and want authorities to determine how many people could be involved.
During questioning, Kasakyi reportedly led investigators to places linked to the alleged killings and named a woman he said he had brought home with plans to marry, as well as another person identified only as David. The article also said his two children were arrested and allegedly told police that their father frequently brought people home before killing them and cutting off their heads.
Lwengo district officials and police urged calm while investigations continue. District chairman Kizito Abas linked the incident to wider concerns about drug abuse and violent behavior, while district police commander Cheben Rodgers said officers would verify the facts and take appropriate action. Police are still examining the remains and seeking to identify possible victims.
