Luweero Residents Urged to Elect Responsible LC1 Chairpersons Ahead of Polls

Nile Post reported that Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs Ambassador Abbey Walusimbi has called on residents of Luweero District to choose Local Council I chairpersons who are honest, dependable and focused on protecting community interests. The remarks were made during a civic education meeting at Lutuula Village in Butuntumula Sub-county ahead of village elections scheduled for July 28, according to the report.

Walusimbi reportedly told residents to take the polls seriously and avoid voting based on excitement or emotion. He said village leaders play an important role in protecting residents’ welfare, land and property, and in supporting local development. He also encouraged citizens to participate peacefully in the democratic process, regardless of political affiliation, noting that communities must continue living together after the election period.
