Love and rage: Kenyan mother stabs own five children in Bunga

What the report says
A Kenyan woman, Dorothy Namayo, 43, is reported to be in critical condition after allegedly stabbing her five children at their home in Bunga, Ggaba, in Kampala’s Makindye Division. The Observer said two children died and three others were injured in the attack, which took place at the family compound and is now under police investigation.
According to the report, Khadija Daizy, 14, died at the scene, while Hawa Dalena, 7, later died at Nsambya Hospital. The three surviving children, aged 13, eight and five, were taken for treatment. Namayo was also found badly injured and rushed to hospital. Police are examining the circumstances around the incident and the domestic conflict that preceded it.
The newspaper said the alleged attack followed tensions between Namayo and her husband, Ederisa Troy, a Malian national, amid accusations that he had taken another wife. A housemaid and neighbours described months of quarrels in the home and said the family had been in dispute for some time. People nearby eventually forced entry after hearing cries for help and alerted police. The case has drawn attention because it follows another child-killing case in the same wider area earlier in the year, though that earlier incident is separate from this one.
