What the report says

MMA Fighting reported that Logan Paul is publicly pushing for a WWE-centered matchup with Conor McGregor after McGregor’s latest injury setback in the UFC. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Paul argued that McGregor is no longer in position to compete as an elite mixed martial artist and said he contacted his WWE boss after McGregor’s recent loss to Max Holloway to suggest turning the situation into a major crossover attraction.

According to the report, McGregor returned at UFC 329 earlier this month but lost a rematch with Holloway after suffering a serious knee injury in the opening moments. The bout was described as McGregor’s first fight in five years, following a long absence that included recovery from the major leg injury he sustained against Dustin Poirier. MMA Fighting wrote that McGregor is now expected to be sidelined for close to another year.

Paul framed his comments around McGregor’s past criticism of WWE and its performers, saying McGregor’s current circumstances make him closer to a wrestling-style attraction than an active fighter. He also credited McGregor’s impact on UFC, MMA and crossover combat sports, while questioning whether McGregor’s years away from competition had prepared him for a successful return.

The potential fight remains only Paul’s stated interest, not an announced event. MMA Fighting noted that McGregor has said he plans to rehabilitate and return next summer for the last bout on his UFC contract, while Paul expressed skepticism that another poor comeback performance would be sustainable for McGregor’s career.
