What the report says

Liverpool and Nottingham Forest meet at Anfield on Saturday in a Premier League match that both sides need after difficult openings to the season, according to Al Jazeera. Liverpool began with a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle, while Forest have lost both of their first two games, including a league defeat and a League Cup loss at home to Leeds.

Al Jazeera reported that Liverpool are still trying to strengthen a squad the club considers short on attacking depth, with ongoing transfer talk around French forward Bradley Barcola and possible exits or interest involving other players. New manager Andoni Iraola said the club is working to add wingers and that he expects movement before the transfer window closes. Forest manager Oliver Glasner, meanwhile, has been open about the rebuilding job at his new club, saying expectations must reflect last season’s struggle to stay up and that quick progress will take time.

Both teams have injury concerns. Liverpool are without several long-term absentees, including Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Joe Gomez. Forest are missing Nicolo Savona and Ryan Yates, while Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White are doubtful. Al Jazeera noted that Liverpool are the favourites on Opta’s model, and the fixture also carries recent history, including Liverpool’s late 1-0 win at Forest in February.
