Liverpool's Jones argues with Szoboszlai after game

What the report says
BBC Sport reported that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones was involved in a tense post-match exchange with team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai following Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Wrexham at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. The incident took place after the final whistle as Liverpool players crossed the pitch to acknowledge supporters at the end of the game.
According to the report, Jones and Szoboszlai argued, with defender Kostas Tsimikas later becoming part of the confrontation. BBC Sport said the reason for the disagreement was not known. The report noted, however, that during the match Szoboszlai handed the captain’s armband to Tsimikas when he was substituted, rather than giving it to Jones. Tsimikas was then seen during the argument throwing the armband to the ground.
The episode comes amid attention on Jones’ future at Anfield. BBC Sport reported that Liverpool rejected a £21.7m bid from Inter Milan for the 25-year-old earlier this summer. Jones, who has been with Liverpool since childhood, has one year remaining on his current contract.
The same report said Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola had recently expressed his wish for Jones to remain with the club, praising him highly and saying he hoped the midfielder would continue with the team. Liverpool’s North American pre-season schedule is due to conclude on Sunday, when they are set to play Leeds in Chicago at 21:00 BST.
