Liverpool close in on signing PSG forward Barcola

What the report says
Liverpool are close to agreeing a major move for Paris St-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, according to BBC Sport Football. The report says talks have advanced in the past 48 hours and that a full deal is nearing completion for the 23-year-old France international. PSG had valued him at about £140m, while the package Liverpool are working on is expected to start at a minimum of £100m and could rise to £120m through performance-related add-ons.
Barcola, who is right-footed but is mainly used on the left wing, would add another high-profile option to Liverpool’s attack. BBC Sport said his potential arrival has increased uncertainty around Cody Gakpo, with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City also understood to have shown interest in the Netherlands forward. Liverpool are also still seeking a right winger and have previously looked at Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and, according to the BBC report, has since won multiple domestic and European trophies with the French club. The move would fit into Liverpool’s wider effort to strengthen their forward line after the departures of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah over the past two summers. If completed, it would be one of the club’s biggest recent transfer commitments and a significant addition to a Premier League title contender.
