Liquid Technologies Backs Rotary Cancer Run, Calls for More Screening

Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda has joined the Rotary Cancer Run campaign, adding corporate support to an annual effort that raises money and public awareness around cancer care in Uganda. According to Nile Post, the company said it had handed over a sponsorship package and also supported university students taking part in the run, which is scheduled for August 30.

Chief Executive Michael Mukasa said the company’s involvement reflects its responsibility to the communities where it operates. He also used the platform to encourage Ugandans to pair cancer awareness with regular screening, saying early checks can help identify the disease before it becomes more serious. The Rotary Cancer Run has been running for about 15 years and is used to fund cancer-related projects and treatment facilities. Its president, Denis Ampurire, said runners will buy kits at Shs30,000, with Shs20,000 from each kit going to the project.
