Liberia: Court Convicts NSA Agent Peter Bon Jallah of Statutory Rape, Kidnapping of 16-Year-Old Boy

What the report says
A Liberian court has convicted National Security Agency agent Peter Bon Jallah on charges of statutory rape and kidnapping in a case involving a 16-year-old boy, according to reporting by The Liberian Investigator distributed by AllAfrica. The verdict was delivered Friday by Criminal Assizes Court “E” for Montserrado County in Monrovia after a bench trial. Jallah, who is 63, was also charged with gang rape, but the court acquitted him of that count, saying prosecutors did not provide enough evidence to support it.
The judge did not announce a sentence immediately. Instead, Jallah was ordered held at Monrovia Central Prison while the court waits for a pre-sentence and behavioral report from the Bureau of Probation Services at the Ministry of Justice. The case will return to court once that report is filed, at which point judgment and sentencing are expected.
The article says prosecutors alleged that the teenager had done errands and domestic work at Jallah’s home before being lured there on multiple occasions in late 2025 and then taken in a vehicle on Jan. 1, 2026. The indictment said the boy was later held for three days and released on Jan. 3, before being found by private security guards and taken for medical care. Jallah had pleaded not guilty, chose a judge-only trial, and the case moved through earlier court assignments and a failed venue challenge before reaching verdict. The matter is significant because it involves allegations of sexual abuse and unlawful detention by a senior security officer in Liberia.
