Lenovo launches 16-inch laptop globally with newer processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB - Notebookcheck

What the report says

Notebookcheck.net reports that Lenovo has refreshed the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6, a 16-inch multimedia laptop, with additional processor and graphics options for global markets. The update comes after Notebookcheck reviewed the model in December 2025 with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU running at up to 115 W. The publication says Lenovo is now listing newer configurations rather than introducing a redesigned chassis.

The most notable addition is Intel’s Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, described by Notebookcheck as a 24-core chip more commonly associated with high-end gaming laptops such as recent Razer Blade, MSI Raider and Alienware models. Based on the site’s benchmark database, the processor should deliver markedly higher CPU performance than the earlier Core Ultra 7 255HX and Core Ultra 9 275HX options. Lenovo has also added the Core Ultra 7 251HX, an 18-core Arrow Lake HX processor positioned below the 255HX and above the Core Ultra 5 235HX.

On the graphics side, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 can now be configured with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 12 GB of VRAM and a 115 W total graphics power limit. Notebookcheck notes that the extra memory represents a 50% increase over the prior RTX 5060 option and could help in some games or graphics settings.

Other listed hardware remains familiar, including a 16-inch 3.2K IPS display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, an 85 Wh battery, two M.2 2280 storage slots and support for up to 64 GB of RAM. Notebookcheck says Lenovo has not yet disclosed pricing or availability details.
