Lakers officially sign Arthur Kaluma to two-way deal, waive Peter Suder

The Sporting Tribune reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed forward Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract, announcing the move on Tuesday. To open the two-way roster slot, the team waived rookie guard Peter Suder, who had joined the organization earlier in July after going undrafted.

According to the report, Kaluma strengthened his case during Summer League play. Across seven games, he averaged 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 51.6% overall and 44.8% from 3-point range. In five Las Vegas games, he led the Lakers’ entry with 18.6 points per contest.

The Sporting Tribune also noted Kaluma’s prior work with South Bay during the 2025-26 G League season, where he appeared in 40 combined regular-season and Tip-Off Tournament games. Mostly coming off the bench, he averaged 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.4 minutes, while making 37.8% of his 3-point attempts. South Bay went 26-10, the top mark in the Western Conference, and reached the conference finals.

Kaluma, 24, entered the professional pipeline after a college career that included 131 starts in 134 games across Creighton, Kansas State and Texas. The report described him as a potential 3-and-D development piece and said he represents Uganda internationally through dual U.S.-Ugandan citizenship. He is expected to split time between the Lakers and their developmental setup, wearing No. 47.
