What the report says

Kyaddondo County has retained its status as Buganda Kingdom’s best-performing county after receiving 72.7 points in the latest assessment of programme implementation and service delivery, according to Nile Post. The review was carried out by a committee appointed to examine how Buganda Kingdom programmes are being implemented across its counties.

Buganda Kingdom’s Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, announced the results and said the exercise was meant to improve service delivery at county level. He said the Kingdom wants stronger discipline, transparency, financial management, innovation, technology and communication in county and sub-county operations. His comments framed the ranking as part of a broader push to strengthen administration and improve performance across the Kingdom.

The result marks the second time in a row that Kyaddondo has finished first. Nile Post reported that, as the top county, Kyaddondo will host the Bulungibwansi and Local Governments event. Ssingo placed second with 70.7 points, followed by Gomba with 64.1, Mawokota with 59.5 and Busiro with 56.5.

The ranking offers a snapshot of how Buganda evaluates county-level delivery and helps explain which areas are being singled out for stronger implementation. In the broader context, such assessments can influence attention, recognition and future administrative focus within the Kingdom.
