Kitara seeks to sink Egyptian giants Al Ahly in Hoima

What the report says
Kitara FC are preparing for a major test against Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32 tie at Hoima City Stadium today. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4pm and marks the Ugandan club’s biggest continental assignment so far in its maiden campaign. The two-legged contest will conclude with the return match in Cairo, Egypt.
According to The Observer, Kitara reached this stage after eliminating Somalia’s Mogadishu City FC 4-1 on aggregate, with both legs played in Hoima. The club’s coach, Wasswa Bbosa, said the squad was fit and had completed recovery work and tactical preparation. He stressed the need for organisation and balance across the pitch, while expressing confidence that his team could create chances against a highly experienced opponent.
Kitara captain Jasper Ahebwa also sounded optimistic, and club president Deo Kasozi described the fixture as the most important in the team’s history. He urged supporters to attend in large numbers. For Al Ahly, the trip to Hoima is a return to competitive football in Uganda after several years; the article notes their last visit was in 2018. The result in Hoima could shape the tie before the deciding leg in Egypt.
