Kinyara Sugar Renews Kitara Shirt Sponsorship in Shs300 Million Deal

Nile Post reports that Kinyara Sugar Limited has renewed its premium shirt sponsorship of Kitara FC under a two-year agreement valued at Shs300 million. The renewed deal extends the company’s partnership with the Bunyoro-based club as Kitara prepares for the 2026/27 season, including domestic football and a CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

According to the report, Kinyara Sugar was Kitara’s main shirt sponsor last season, a period in which the club won the Stanbic Uganda Cup and secured continental qualification. The agreement was signed for Kinyara Sugar by Chief Executive Ravi Ramalingam, with Company Secretary Alfred Stanley Odong witnessing. Other company officials at the ceremony included Agriculture Manager Senthil Kumar, Human Resource Manager Moses Kabira and Public Relations Officer Francis Mugerwa.

Kitara was represented by Chief Executive Joshua Atugonza, while Deputy Chief Executive Timothy Kato witnessed the signing. Club captain Jasper Baguma, Public Relations Officer Geoffrey Tumwesige and Events Manager Andrew Kaahwa Mega also attended. Nile Post reported that Kinyara framed the sponsorship as part of its wider corporate social responsibility work, which also covers areas such as sports development, healthcare, education, road works, environmental sustainability and agricultural extension.

The renewal matters for Kitara because it provides a significant commercial boost as the club strengthens its squad and resumes training for the new season. The partnership also gives Kinyara continued visibility through Kitara’s shirts at a time when the club is set to compete beyond Uganda’s domestic competitions.
