Kid Fox says he does not listen to Ugandan Music

What the report says
Veteran Ugandan musician Kid Fox said he does not currently listen to Ugandan artists, even though he is aware of several younger names in the local scene. He made the remarks during an appearance on Galaxy FM, where he was asked which Ugandan performers were on his playlist. According to Sqoop Uganda, he answered that there were none and said his listening habits remain centered on Jamaican music, which he says he followed before returning to Uganda after spending more than 14 years in Japan.
Kid Fox said his familiarity with some Ugandan acts has come mainly through social media, especially TikTok. He mentioned Ava Peace, John Blaq and Alien Skin as artists he has come across through online challenges and while scrolling on his phone. The comments suggest he is more aware of current Ugandan pop culture than his playlist choice might imply, even if he says he does not actively follow the music.
He also spoke about collaborations involving Ugandan artistes. Kid Fox confirmed that a project with Ziza Bafana is being developed, though he said it is not yet fully settled and that Crysto Panda is also involved. Separately, he confirmed another collaboration with Alien Skin, which he expects will draw attention once released. Sqoop Uganda reported that both projects are still unreleased, and the remarks may matter because they point to ongoing cross-artist work in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
