Kenya’s Kenya Kwanza coalition and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have set up a 10-member team to draft a joint manifesto for the 2027 General Election, according to Capital FM’s report distributed by AllAfrica. President William Ruto announced the move at the Joint Broad-Based Alliance Parliamentary Group and Governors Retreat in Naivasha, framing it as a formal step in the two groups’ political partnership.

The team includes five representatives from each side, along with the parties’ executive directors in ex-officio roles. ODM has named Isaac Wanuge, Mariam Mbaruk, Leonida Kerubo and Prof. Benard Muok, while Kenya Kwanza’s nominees include Emmanuel Zai, Dr Daniel Muay, Bramwell Simeu, Mohamed Hassan and Dr Sicilian. The group is expected to turn the alliance into a shared policy agenda that can be presented to voters in 2027.

Ruto said the document should be more than a campaign platform and should reflect ideas gathered from national consultations. He also linked the work to broader discussions around Kenya Beyond Vision 2030 and a National Development Charter.
