Kenya Pipeline looks beyond oil transport as profit rises 13% to KSh11.58bn

What the report says
Kenya Pipeline Company Plc (KPC), the Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed, state-linked infrastructure firm, is planning to move beyond its core role of transporting and storing petroleum products as it seeks to grow annual revenue to KSh68bn by 2030. The Independent Uganda reported that the company, in which Uganda holds a 21.22% stake, posted profit after tax of KSh11.58bn for the financial year 2026, up 13% from the previous year, alongside a 9% rise in revenue to KSh43bn.
The results were described as KPC’s first full-year financial update since privatisation earlier this year. Acting managing director Pius Mwendwa said the company had improved earnings and efficiency despite volatile global fuel markets and supply disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East. Cash generated from operations also rose, while the company’s cash position and balance sheet strengthened, with assets and equity both increasing and borrowings falling sharply.
KPC’s growth strategy centres on using its pipeline, storage and loading network to capture more value from East Africa’s fuel trade. Board chair Faith Bett-Boinett said the company supports plans for an integrated petroleum trading hub at Kipevu in Mombasa, which would offer services such as transhipment, bulk breaking, bunkering and re-export. The article also said KPC is considering an Eldoret-Kampala-Kigali pipeline extension, which could matter for Uganda and other landlocked regional markets that depend on Kenyan fuel infrastructure.
The company paid a dividend and said fossil fuel transport and storage will remain its main business for now, even as it explores LPG, LNG, biofuels, power generation and third-party trading services.
