Kenya: Motorcycle Deliveries Lift Bolt Send Orders By 130pc

What the report says
Bolt says motorcycle deliveries have sharply increased demand for its parcel service in Kenya, with orders up by more than 130 percent between January and July 2026, according to Capital FM’s report republished by AllAfrica. The company said the growth helped Bolt Send pass one million deliveries in Kenya less than a year after its formal relaunch.
The report says Bolt introduced motorcycle deliveries as a separate product category in February 2026, later adding four-wheel deliveries in Nairobi in March to handle larger items. Bolt described Kenya as its fastest-growing established Send market globally, and said two-wheel delivery volumes in the country had overtaken Ghana in May and widened the gap by August. Most orders were recorded in Nairobi, where the service is being used for parcels, documents and stock movement over an average distance of 9.4 kilometers.
Bolt has also expanded the service to Mombasa and allows customers to send parcels to long-distance bus termini for onward transport to cities including Kisumu, Nakuru and Meru. The company’s growth in Kenya follows regulatory steps in the courier sector, including gazettement as a National Courier Operator in 2025 and receipt of a full licence in 2026, which enabled it to pursue broader delivery contracts. As a general background, motorcycle-based logistics are widely used in many African cities because they can move quickly through congested urban traffic.
