Kenya: Kindiki Says Kenya Kwanza Has Exceeded Development Targets, Ready to Face Voters

What the report says
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the Kenya Kwanza government has delivered beyond its campaign promises and is prepared to face voters in the next General Election. Speaking during a tour of development projects in Kabete, Kiambu and Ruiru constituencies in Kiambu County, he said the administration is on track to implement its manifesto through work in roads, electricity connections, modern markets, agriculture, education and affordable housing.
According to the Capital FM report distributed by AllAfrica, Kindiki pointed to more than 6,000 kilometres of roads under construction, hundreds of markets at different stages of development, expanded last-mile electricity projects and the hiring of 100,000 teachers, with another 20,000 planned by year-end. He also said affordable housing projects are creating jobs nationwide and that the government remains committed to improving service delivery and reducing poverty.
During the visit, Kindiki launched and inspected several projects in Kiambu County, including roads, a school construction project, a modern market and a hostel block at a technical training institution. His office said the county has multiple roads, markets, housing developments and other projects planned or underway. He also urged opposition leaders to present their own records and policy ideas, and said the government would continue its campaign against illicit alcohol and drugs. The remarks come as development performance and economic concerns are expected to be key issues in Kenya’s next election cycle.
