KCB Bank Uganda Launches ‘Building Great Men’ Mentorship Programme to Foster Leadership, Wellbeing and Personal Growth

Watchdog Uganda reported that KCB Bank Uganda launched the “Building Great Men” Mentorship Programme at its Kampala headquarters on 29 July 2026. The initiative is designed for male employees and is intended to support leadership development, personal growth, wellbeing and stronger roles at work, in families and in the wider community.

According to the report, 32 pioneer participants were introduced at the launch, which brought together senior management, staff, mentors and partners. The programme is scheduled to run for six months and will include structured coaching, peer learning and practical sessions focused on areas such as purposeful leadership, accountability, emotional intelligence, character development and healthy relationships. It is also expected to create a confidential support network where participants can learn from mentors and from one another.

KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah officially unveiled the programme and described investment in employees as a central priority for the bank. Watchdog Uganda reported that Byamah linked the initiative to the view that leadership is grounded in character, purpose and personal development, with benefits expected to extend beyond the workplace.

The programme will be facilitated by Alpha Lead. Coach Andrew Kimuli of Alpha Lead said the initiative is broader than career advancement, emphasizing values, mindset and support systems for men. Watchdog Uganda framed the mentorship effort as part of KCB Bank Uganda’s wider employee wellbeing and leadership agenda, aimed at building a resilient and purpose-driven workforce able to serve customers and communities.
