Kataleya & Kandle reveal truth behind ‘gifted’ BMW

What the report says
Ugandan singing duo Kataleya & Kandle have described an episode in which they say they were led to believe a BMW had been given to them as a reward, only for the vehicle to later be taken away. According to Sqoop Uganda, the incident happened months ago during what the pair thought was a routine content shoot.
The duo said they were invited by YouTuber Brown Sugar to a beachside location to film a challenge connected to one of their songs. When they arrived, they found a staged presentation with a white BMW, flowers and media coverage. A label with their names on the car persuaded them that the vehicle was truly theirs, and they said they used it for about a week while enjoying the attention around the moment.
Their account changed when the BMW disappeared and they were told it had been recalled. Kataleya & Kandle said they were not given a clear explanation at the time and later concluded that the presentation had been a publicity stunt rather than a genuine gift. They said the experience left them feeling misled, especially because they believed the car was a personal reward for their work.
Sqoop Uganda also linked the episode to tensions during their period under former manager Ray Pan. The duo later announced they were parting ways with him, though they did not initially explain why.
