Karamoja Anti-Corruption Coalition Disseminates Auditor General’s Findings for Nabilatuk District

What the report says

The Karamoja Anti-Corruption Coalition (KACC) has shared the Auditor General’s findings for Nabilatuk District for the 2024/2025 financial year at a stakeholders’ meeting held in the district boardroom on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, according to Watchdog Uganda. The session brought together district technical staff, department heads and political leaders.

At the meeting, Principal Assistant Secretary Anyakun Jovic, speaking for the Chief Administrative Officer, welcomed KACC’s presentation and said some issues in the audit report had already been dealt with. He also noted that the report had come out later than expected and that some findings related to policy matters that would need action beyond the district’s direct control.

KACC Project Officer Amina Lowakori presented the report and highlighted areas she said required urgent attention from district leadership and staff to improve accountability, financial management and service delivery. Participants raised concerns including the continued transfer of secondary school teachers from Nabilatuk and the absence of hard-to-reach allowances, which they said were affecting service delivery.

District Vice Chairperson Angolere Hellen thanked staff for taking part and urged departments to ensure public funds are used in line with government rules. The meeting reflects wider efforts to publicise audit findings and encourage follow-up on recommendations, a common accountability practice in public-sector oversight.
