What the report says

The Observer reported that Uganda Baati held an employee wellness engagement focused on men’s wellbeing under its Safal Circles initiative. The session, titled “Men of Steel: A Life and Wellness Conversation,” brought together male employees from across the company to discuss mental health, career development, relationships, physical wellbeing and work-life balance.

According to the report, former media executive Robert Kabushenga led the keynote conversation. He urged participants to look beyond professional success and pay attention to self-awareness, personal growth and healthy relationships. The Observer said Kabushenga framed leadership as beginning with responsibility for one’s own wellbeing, and encouraged seeking support when needed rather than treating it as a weakness.

Uganda Baati chief executive George Arodi also addressed the session, reaffirming the company’s stated commitment to building a workplace where employees can thrive beyond their formal roles. The report said Arodi linked the company’s work in manufacturing steel solutions with the need to support the people behind that work. Jackie Tahakanizibwa, identified in a photo caption as Uganda Baati’s corporate affairs chief, was also pictured at the engagement.

The event reflects a broader workplace trend in which employers are giving more attention to mental health and employee wellbeing, especially as job demands increase. The Observer’s account presents the Uganda Baati session as part of an internal effort to create space for open conversations among male staff on issues that can affect performance, resilience and overall quality of life.
